Behind the Scenes Photos by Scott W. H. Young
These photos were taken by local photographer Scott W. H. Young during the filming of our dance piece, “In the Shadows.”
They were taken on a Nikon F2 film camera, manufactured in 1970. The film is Ilford Delta 3200 and Ilford FP4. The film was developed using caffenol, an alternative process where coffee is the main ingredient. The paper is Ilford Fiber Based paper.
The size of the larger prints are 8 x 10, and the small prints (as seen in #4 grouping) are 5 x 7.
About Scott:
Scott works primarily with black & white film using natural light on location and in the studio. His process involves both traditional darkroom techniques and alternative process like cyanotype and caffenol.
When he’s with his camera, he’s usually looking to emphasize line, shape, shadow, and surface. He usually shoots in 6×6 format using a Hasselblad 500C/M or Polaroid, because he loves the balance and the tension of the square frame. He lives in Bozeman, Montana.
