Pisomovil Floorwork Workshop

  • 2304 N 7th Ave Suite C-3 Bozeman, MT, 59715 United States (map)

When:

Saturday October 14th 1-3 pm and Sunday October 15th 1-4 pm.

What:

Piso Movil is a training system created by the Contemporary Dance Company Cortocinesis. In this technique, the floor is the direct contact the body has in motion. In the body-floor relationship, we will find certain areas of study such as the use of the upper and lower extremities,  the connection among the joints, the density resulting from the interaction of the body with the floor.  While moving, the quest is to find a flow by picturing the body parts as a whole and not as isolated parts. These connections allow the body to go from vertical to horizontal directions continuously and indefinitely creating an organic motion.

Instructor:

Danielbi Perdomo who is a Contemporary Dance Creator, Dancer and Educator. She started her studies at Pisorrojo, Taller experimental de Danza Contemporánea, Universidad Central de Venezuela under Carlos Penso’s guidance, learning techniques such as Release, Flying Low and Improvisation. Almost at the same time, she gets in Universidad Experimental de las Artes and studied Contemporary Dance. Here she developed skills in Ballet, Choreography and Contact Improvisation. Some of the teachers that influenced her the most during this period were Evelyn Pérez, Susan Bello, María Pochet,  Eliana Guerrero, Francisca Becerra, Inés Rojas y Rafael Nieves. In 2017 she began her own research in motion flow and continuity, contact improvisation, and floorwork.
